For my reflection project i have 2 ideas, i am deciding between doing my dog being reflected off the side mirror; or my mountain bike in the reflection of a CD. I chose the Mountain bike in the reflection of the CD because i love to mountain bike and i love making and listening to music. I think the CD reflection would be more of a challenge but could look really cool. Some trouble i might have is put a green wash over the top and deciding which color paper to use as the background. i chose a dark brown after trying 4 different colored papers because it didn't clash against the greens and blues and everything looks so bright. I am worried about doing the project on a angle and trying to make everything flow and not look to big. Its defiantly a stretch out a area ive never been especially cause this will be my 3rd time using prisma colors in a project, so we will see how it goes. The project has a lot of potential of either being awesome or terrible, so lets be positive!!!
I have started my final with my dark/ mid tone brown colored paper and all the greens and blues are really busting on it. I setup the drawing using pencil which is defiantly helping with how good it will turn out. I am learning to not use black and use more dark blues and purples to get the dark effect of black. I like it more cause black can be boring and the blue catches your eye more effectively. I am having problem with the color around the inner circle in the CD. I hope it turns out good cause there are a couple circles within that circle. The shocks are one my favorite part because it shows reflection with the reflection of the CD. It looks i'm on a positive track so lets hope it ends up awesome!!!.
Here is my project just about finished right next to the original photo. It looks pretty close but I ended up coming back in and darkening the background of the cd an in the CD. After adding the dark I couldn't decide whether I like the picture darker or lighter. I am on the fence on which one I like. During this project I spent most of my time layering color upon color to get the shade of color that I preferred. I really enjoyed seeing how close the photos look and that made my day a lot better. I wouldn't change a thing if I did this project again I think it came out as it can get (for now). I am happy that I am finally starting to understand how to use the prismas and now I am using them more than any other media and I will defiantly try to become even better with them because I know I put them on a little thick. I hope we get to use prismas more in MS Rossi's and I am excited for what is to come in the future. This AP class is defiantly a lot more work but its helping me become a better artist already.
